Team Maryland Forward Zack Capozza was selected 32nd overall in the second round by the Kenai River Brown Bears of Alaska in the 2010 NAHL Entry Draft held on May 26, 2010.
Capozza finished this past season with 22 goals, 24 assists, 46 points, and 60 penalty minutes. Capozza who came to Team Maryland from Gunnery Prep School has transformed his game this past season into a power forward, as he possesses great size and skill.
Capozza became Team Maryland's eighth drafted player, six in the USHL draft, one in the NAHL draft, and one in GMHL draft. This does not include the four Team Maryland players who have signed tenders in the NAHL.
The NAHL is the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier II Junior A league has 25 franchises throughout the country. The NAHL prides itself on the social maturity and skill development of student-athletes ages 16-20 with aspirations of advancing to collegiate and/or professional hockey.
